What Super Cruise does that adaptive cruise control does not
Adaptive cruise control manages your speed. Super Cruise manages your speed and your lane, which is why the hardware behind it is different. Three pieces do the work.
- Steering. The system holds the vehicle centered in its lane on a compatible road, so your hands can rest in your lap.
- Speed and following distance. It sets your pace and keeps a gap to the vehicle ahead, the same job adaptive cruise control does.
- Driver monitoring. A camera watches your head and eyes. Look away long enough and the system prompts you, then escalates, and it is designed to slow the vehicle and bring it to a stop if you never respond.
That last piece is the one buyers underestimate. Super Cruise takes your hands off the wheel and gives you nothing back on attention. You are watching the highway the entire time.
Which Buick and GMC models offer Super Cruise

The Acadia profile does not list Super Cruise
The GMC Acadia is the model buyers most often assume is on that list, and the manufacturer profile we work from does not list Super Cruise on it. So we do not claim it. If a three-row GMC with hands-free driving is what you want, the Yukon is the model the roster names, and it is rated to tow up to 8,400 lbs. properly equipped (GMC, 2026).
That leaves a real decision for a family shopping the Acadia. The Acadia starts at $43,600 and the Yukon starts at $69,600, so the gap between them buys a great deal more than one feature.
